Prayer of the Day
With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
—2 Peter 3:8–9
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.
—Psalm 40:1
Lord, forgive me for becoming impatient with my child. I confess that at the heart of my impatience lies my sinful nature. You give us many chances to turn away from our sinful ways back to You. Having crowned You as Lord of my life, help me to learn patience from You. I know that You make all things beautiful in Your time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). This includes transforming not only my child, but also myself into Your image.
