Prayer of the Day
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”
Luke 23:34
Merciful Saviour, thank You for showing us such lovingkindness and compassion, by choosing to take the weight of our sins and giving us new life—at the expense of Yours. Even when we despised and spurned You, You still looked upon us with mercy and love, and extended to us divine forgiveness. Grant me and my children a fresh cleansing of our sins, and help us to declare with gratefulness as Paul did: “I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life” (1 Timothy 1:15–17).
