Prayer of the Day
[Jesus said] “Each tree is recognised by its own fruit . . . A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”
Luke 6:44–45
Lord, reveal to me what fruit I am bearing through the words that I speak. I confess of my evil thoughts and speech, and ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. May I delight in and meditate on Your holy words day and night, so that I will be “like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither” (Psalm 1:3–4). I pray that my spouse and children will taste and see the fruit I bear, and be influenced and encouraged by my example to be rooted in Your living Word.
