Prayer of the Day
When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.”
Luke 7:13
Gracious Lord, thank You for being close to me and my family when we are broken-hearted (Psalm 34:18). Even though You sit enthroned in heaven above, You deigned to clothe yourself in flesh and to be among us and with us. In our pain and sorrow, I pray that You will comfort us and use us as Your instruments to comfort our children, “with the comfort with which we ourselves receive” from You (1 Corinthians 1:4).
