Prayer of the Day
The Father of compassion and the God of all comfort . . . comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3–4
Loving Father, thank You for lavishing upon me Your comfort and peace, which transcends all understanding in my time of need. I pray that You will use me to be Your instrument of comfort to my children in their struggles. Help me not to be quick to speak or judge, but to listen to them just as You listen to me, and to show them grace just as You show grace to me. Use me to gently turn them towards You in prayer, so that they too will know You as their “Father of compassion and the God of all comfort” (2 Corinthians 1:3).
