Prayer of the Day
The words of the reckless pierce like swords,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Proverbs 12:18
Father, forgive me for the times I have spoken in anger and carelessness, and hurt and torn others down. Grant me self-control over my tongue, and give me wisdom and discernment to know when to speak and when to stay silent. Give me words that are “helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen” (Ephesians 4:29). Holy Spirit, put a guard over my mouth, and guide me to speak words that bring healing to others.
