Prayer of the Day
Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
Lamentations 3:22
Merciful Lord, we come before You in fear and trembling, as sinful creations before a holy Creator. You know every wicked thought, unkind word, and evil deed we have done and will do, and yet You choose to give us Your Son to atone for our sins. Please impress upon our hearts, and that of our children’s, our sinfulness and Your faithfulness, so that as a family we will declare: “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him” (Lamentations 3:24). May we place our hope in You, seek You, and wait quietly for Your salvation (Lamentations 3:25–26).
