Prayer of the Day
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Lord, help my child to be on alert in a world full of subtle yet deceptive messages, communicated through popular culture. Help her realize how the worldly values she encounters are hollow, compared to the glorious perspective of the Christian faith. May she make the choice not conform to the pattern of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of her mind. And may her conscience never be hardened to the point where she can no longer tell the difference between Your truth and the world’s.
