Rejoicing in Suffering

Merciful Lord, You alone know what my children are going through and will go through in this life. Strengthen their faith in You as they handle problems, challenges, and tribulations that come their way. And help me to be slow to speak and quick to listen, to know how to encourage them when they are downcast, and when to counsel them with Your wisdom at the right time. Through it all, may they learn to rejoice in their sufferings, knowing that it will produce endurance in them and glory to Your name.
