Prayer of the Day
Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.

In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
—1 Peter 5:5
Lord, You are a God of order and You set up authority structures to help us to live well. Help my child understand that parents and leaders are responsible to God for those under their care. Help him cheerfully submit to authority. If he does not understand something, may he ask for clarification respectfully. And, as he obeys authority so as to honor You, may he find favor in the eyes of those You have put in charge of him.
